Damian Harvey was born in 1967. He grew up near Blackpool in Lancashire, and went to Sunderland University where he got a degree in Communication Studies. He wanted to work in radio but soon found writing stories was the thing he loved most of all. He's worked as a lifeguard, a swimming teacher, a shop assistant, and a painter and decorator.

Now, Damian lives near Blackpool with his wife and three daughters, four cats, five guinea pigs, two rabbits and lots of fish.

He is a popular visitor to schools and libraries around the country where he gives lively, interactive talks about writing and being a writer, and shares stories and poems with children from nursery to year six.

He has written about 40 books for children and is busy writing more...
