For as long as she can remember, Gillian Cross has loved books and stories and has always wanted to write books of her own. Gillian has been writing for children for over 20 years, and she has won not only the Carnegie Medal for Wolf, but also the Smarties Prize and the Whitbread Children’s Novel Award for The Great Elephant Chase. Her Demon Headmaster books were re-shown on BBC television in 2005 bringing them to a whole new generation of fans.
Gillian and her husband live in a village near Coventry. They have four children.
