Ceri Worman

Ceri Worman

NCBF05

Ceri Worman was born in Wales but moved to England at the age of three. Her family originally moved to Oxford but when Ceri was seven they settled in South Yorkshire, where Ceri was teased because of her "posh southern accent".

After gaining a History degree from Hull University, Ceri worked as a librarian for various London libraries, where her "broad northern accent" was ironically mocked!

After a stint as an English teacher in south London, Ceri moved, with her young son to South America where her "English accent" went unnoticed. Her attempts at Spanish however did not go by without the odd giggle.

When her son became especially fluent in Spanish swearwords, Ceri decided it was time to return to England. They settled back in South Yorkshire and Ceri began to write her first children's book, The Adventures of Jamie B, Superspy, based, in part, on her son, Marcus, now an adventurous teenager.

On the surface Jamie B may be an ordinary twelve year old cleaning cars for a summer job, with a crush on the seventeen year old receptionist, Kitty but in reality he is Bond, Jamie Bond, a dynamic superspy on a top secret mission. When events at the car garage take on a sinister twist, Jamie isn't so sure he wants to be a superspy any more.
