Welcome...

The Northern Children's Book Festival - November 8-20 2010 in venues across the North East of England.

2010 is the 27th anniversary of The Northern Children's Book Festival. Each year seems to bring a bigger, better Festival and this year promises to be even more spectacular.

Festival 09 - How was it for You?

The 2009 Northern Children's Book Festival was a huge success. 33 writers, illustrators, poets and storytellers met and worked with 14,933 children and young people (aged 3 - 19 years) and 1,036 adults in 105 schools and 39 libraries across the region from Berwick in the north to Redcar in the south. Feedback from the children, their parents and teachers has been exceptionally positive . . . and the authors too seemed to have had a wonderful time! November in the North East was a buzzing place to be!

Gala Day 09 - Buzzin'

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as 1848 children and adults alike enjoyed the delights of NCBF Gala Day 2009. The event hosted by Stockton Library Service was held at the Stockton Riverside College a venue, which could not have lent itself more perfectly to the occasion. Thirteen fabulous children’s authors and illustrators captivated audiences of all ages as they brought the magic of books to life, with everything from lively dancing and singing to spine tingling adventure and hilarious poetry renditions. There really was something to suit everyone and as if that wasn’t enough, thrilled children could meet their favourite authors and illustrators whilst getting their purchases from the onsite bookshop signed!
